The Youth Group is proud to announce its new partnership with Scottish Equity Partners (SEP). Eleven professionals from SEP’s Glasgow and London offices will join The Youth Group’s flagship ‘Mentor Me’ service as mentors. Partners, investment executives and marketing, information technology and finance professionals are all participating in the scheme, and will offer young people interested in investment, finance or office support roles, an unparalleled mentoring experience.
SEP is one of Europe’s leading and most experienced technology growth equity firms, helping founders and management teams to achieve their global ambitions. Providing investment alongside expertise and access to an international network, SEP works closely with the companies it invests in to maximise business growth and value. Six-time winners of ‘Venture Capital firm of the year’, SEP is also a signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment.
SEP’s commitment to supporting growth, partnering with high performing teams, encouraging responsible business practice and long-term focus all resonate with The Youth Group’s mission - to enable young people to thrive in today's world. It also helps build a global network of opportunities, creating a meaningful experience for each and every young person that raises ambition and expectations. Working with SEP, The Youth Group will now be able to open new doors and build new bridges for young people, whether they are taking their first step on their career journeys or looking to make a change.
Catherine Simpson, Chief Operating Officer at SEP said:
“We are excited to be working with The Youth Group, sharing our business and life experiences to inspire and inform young people across the UK, at a time when many are facing real challenges as they try and secure their first job or progress their careers.”
Managing Partner for Youth Mentoring, George Coulton said:
“Scottish Equity Partners have a strong track record of working with founders and ambitious management teams with a focus on long term success. At The Youth Group we work with amazing, innovative and passionate young people and being able to connect them with equally amazing mentors from SEP is extremely exciting. Young people are essential to these high-performing boardrooms for years to come!”
SEP and The Youth Group embarked on the first stage of this exciting new partnership on 25th August 2021, when SEP participated in one of Mentor Me’s highly successful ‘Mentoring Academy’ training sessions.
The event was a great opportunity for the SEP team to hear more about the impact Mentor Me has had to date, as well as being given a taster of what there is to look forward to as a mentor with The Youth Group.
Keep an eye on our social media for further updates about our Mentoring Academy session with SEP.
